In an Italian restaurant a long, long, long time ago and countless miles from now our eyes met for the first time. She walked in with a cigar in hand and bellied up to the bar next to me where I had been drinking tequila most of the afternoon, due to just losing my job. The sweet smell of the cigar intrigued me to find out more about this young lady. I asked her if I could buy her a drink to ease into conversation. After the bartender brought her pitcher of beer (which she drank from the pitcher) we started to engage in what I thought was meaningful dialogue. The night went on and on, so I thought. I woke up the next morning to a stranger laying in my bed, I thought to myself who this could be. I didn’t remember bringing anybody home on my moped last night. I quietly snuck to the bathroom to relieve myself but was filled with gas from whatever I consumed the night prior. Sounds came out of me uncontrollably. Embarrassed as if somebody heard me, I made my way back to the bedroom to find a lovely redhead awake in my bed, reaching for her teeth on the nightstand. She looked like she was in shock when she saw me and wondered how she landed at my place. She too did not remember going home with anybody. If you ever been in that situation before you know how awkward the conversation is that follows. As a courtesy we exchanged phone numbers and here we are today.
